Spotlight on our Partner: Deepak Perwani's Digitally Printed Silk Scarves

Deepak Perwani digital printing ethical fashion silk scarf

An enduring partnership was formed in the fall of 2010 when I approached Deepak Perwani with the idea of leveraging his brand to raise awareness of the floods that had just devastated Pakistan. In the five years that followed, we have spent countless hours together in his workshop in Karachi collaborating on everything from pajamas to evening gowns. So, when it was time to source our first collection at Victoria Road, Deepak Perwani was an obvious choice as one of our inaugural partners. His endless energy and dedication to effecting enduring and positive change in Pakistan never cease to amaze me. His workshop employs around seventy-five people, many of whom have been part of the team from the very beginning. These incredibly skilled individuals are recognized and appreciated for their talent and hard work.

In anticipation of celebrating mothers all around the globe, we scooped up a series of
scarves inspired by Deepak’s travels in Barcelona, Paris, London and New York. These simple Hermes-style digitally printed charmeuse silk scarves are bold and beautiful and can be worn in so many different ways!

Each time I complete my outfit with one of these beautiful square silk scarves, I take pride in knowing that we are supporting an ecosystem that believes in recognizing the human beings behind these handmade goods and ensuring that they are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

What better way to tell your mom that you love her than to gift her a handmade silk scarf by a designer at the forefront of ethical and sustainable fashion.
